I have had this little marvel for a couple of months now and the only problem I have is waiting a short while for it to heat up. Wink It does benefit from being allowed this time and it is worth the wait. ( 3 mins or so ).
The device is well constructed but unlike most, it is designed to be maintained by the user. If the jar breaks, it can be replaced with any honey or jam jar that has a standard 4 slot lid. The halogen bulb can be obtained from any car spares shop. The tube is standard syphon tube from home brewing. Even the "L" joint for the pipe is standard and can be bought at a plumbers suppliers or hardware shop. The gauze mount can be replaced with a socket from a socket set. The power supply is 240 to 12volt and could be replaced with a similar one. The wooden base and the electronic smoothing circuit within it are the only bits I probably coudn't replace myself.
The air flow is provided by a small hole that leads under the bulb. It is drawn up past the bulb and gauze into the main chamber and then through a small filter, and down the pipe.
After having waited the "eternity" Wink for it to warm up, the vapor produced is mellow to the point of hardly being there. It is only after you stop sucking that you can taste anything at all. The pure flavour of your selected ingredient is all you get. I have used several varieties of herb and only 1 had a really strong after taste but that strain was designed that way. I was lucky enough to get hold of some clean solid. This too was superb and also had a very mellow flavour. Very little is used in this device but it seems to keep going for quite a while. You lose none by "waving it about like a sparkler", you can put the pipe down and leave it, again, nothing is lost. It will wait for you Cool .
The results arnt instant, you have to wait a short while for that too but its well worth it. It is not like being sedated. Uplifting is the word I prefer to describe it. It makes me feel able to do perhaps more than I actually can, physically, whereas other methods of ingestion have made me somewhat "couchlocked". After repeated use, the jar becomes sticky inside. Even this is not wasted. You can run a cigarette paper around the inside while it is still warm, if thats your thing, or rinse with vodka and drink that, if thats your thing but I like to heat a pan of shallow water, put the jar in the water, put a little milk in the jar and use that for hot chocolate.
I would just like to add that I phoned the number on the vapureyes website and found the company to be more than helpful. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
